The No. 6 Baylor Bears kick off a huge week of games in the Midwest as they take on the Marquette Golden Eagles in Milwaukee Tuesday night.

The game will be played at FiServ Forum, the home of the Milwaukee Bucks and while the Bears have not faced Marquette since 1999, they are familiar with the Golden Eagles' coach, Shake Smart. Baylor coach Scott Drew had enormous success when Smart coached the Texas Longhorns from 2015-2021, going 10-2 head to head against Smart.

The Bears have not played in six days, when they feasted on the McNeese State Cowboys the day before Thanksgiving, 89-60. The Golden Eagles come into the game having won their last two contests by large margins also, most recently an 82-68 victory over Chicago State.

Baylor moved up in the polls this week from eighth to sixth and now have the longest active streak of consecutive weeks spent in the AP top 10, having been there for 54 straight weeks dating back to December 2019.

These are two of the best passing teams in America, with the Bears ranked fifth and Marquette ninth in team assist percentage. Marquette's Tyler Kolek is second nationally in total assists (55) and in assists per game (7.9). Kolek, however, is not in the top 40 for assist to turnover ratio, and the Bears have two players (Adam Flagler and Dale Bonner) in the top 20 of that category. Neither team has a player in the top 50 for field goals attempted this season.

FIRST HALF

UNDER-16: Baylor leads 7-6.  Jalen Bridges opens the scoring with a put back layup and L.J. Cryer's floater puts the Bears up 5-2. Ighodaro's transition dunk cuts the lead to 7-6.

UNDER-12: Marquette leads 23-9. Prosper gives Marquette a 9-7 lead with a three-pointer right out of the timeout. Kolek's layup and-one gives the Eagles five straight field goals after starting 1-6 and makes the lead 14-9. Back to back layups by Prosper makes the run 16-2. Prosper hits a 3 to make it 21-9. 21-2 Marquette run.

UNDER-8: Marquette leads 34-14. Ross picks Bridges' pocket for a transition dunk to push the run to 23-2. Flagler's transition three cuts it to 27-14.

UNDER-4: Marquette leads 43-23. George scores on a backdoor feed from Langston Love and Love hits a three-pointer the next time down to make it 39-20. George hits a three the next time down. Transition dunk pushes the Eagles' lead back to 20.

Steal on an inbounds play is Baylor's 14th turnover and leads to Marquette's 21st fast break point of the half. Joplin's three gives Marquette a 25-point lead, their largest of the game.

HALFTIME: Marquette 51, Baylor 25

SECOND HALF

UNDER-16: Marquette leads 67-41. Cryer scores the first five points of the half for Baylor with a layup and a three. Kolek's three-pointer pushes lead to 27 at 57-30. Cryer gets a steal and a transition layup but Ighudaro hits another three.

UNDER-12: Marquette leads 72-45. George spins to the basket for a layup but a second chance opportunity for Marquette leads to a Joplin jumper.

UNDER-8: Marquette leads 85-57.  Love's shot is blocked and Gold hits a three at the other end. Flagler answers with his own three.

UNDER-4: Marquette leads Baylor 93-64.  Cryer hits a three to make the lead 23. Kolek answers with a three on the next possession. Marquette adds back to back threes on the next two possessions.

FINAL SCORE: Marquette 96, Baylor 70
