Baylor Lands BYU OL Transfer Campbell Barrington

The Baylor Bears added to their offensive line via the transfer portal on Tuesday.

BYU Cougars offensive lineman transfer Campbell Barrington has committed to the Baylor Bears, he announced on social media Tuesday.

Barrington, a Freshman All-American in 2021, arrives to Waco after two seasons with BYU, which included two matchups against Baylor in 2021 and 2022.

However, he only played in nine games this past season due to having surgery on a broken thumb.

Still, he helped pave the way for an offense that averaged 31.9 points per game and 173.6 rushing yards per game this past season. Additionally, BYU quarterback Jaren Hall was sacked just 12 times all season, a testament to the stout protection Barrington and the offensive line was able to generate.

He now joins forces with two former BYU coaches in offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes and offensive line coach Eric Mateos.

Barrington will now help add more production to a Baylor offense that was solid last season. In the Big 12, the Bears were fifth in offensive yards per game (429.2) and rushing yards per game (194.1) and were fourth in points per game (33.6).

The Bears (6-6) will now close out the season with a matchup against Air Force (9-3) in the Armed Forces Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 22 in Fort Worth.
