Dave Aranda Continues to Build Something Special at Baylor Following Win Over Oklahoma

While the Bears may not play for a Big 12 championship, Dave Aranda continues to build something special in Waco.

It isn't too often that a 6-3 record could be considered disappointing, but that is arguably the case for the Baylor Bears. The Bears entered the season as the favorites to repeat as Big 12 champions, and now are likely on the outside looking in for a conference championship appearance.

However, following their 38-35 record over the Oklahoma Sooners, the Bears are bowl eligible for the second straight year under coach Dave Aranda.

Their win over Sooners saw the Bears force three interceptions while getting whatever they wanted on the ground, as Craig Williams recorded 192 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.

While the goal is obviously a Big 12 championship, where the Bears have gotten under Aranda is still nothing short of impressive. In his first three seasons they've won a Big 12 championship, won a Sugar Bowl and are now poised to make yet another respectable bowl game in year three.

Now, what Bears fans need, is patience. They are on the right track to being a perennial Big 12 championship and potentially College Football Playoff contenders, and Aranda is building something special in Waco.

An 8-4 or 9-3 record is still in the cards for the Bears, and now that they've won three games in a row they appear to be firing on all cylinders at the perfect time. How they finish is still yet to be seen, but as the final three games await, Aranda is establishing a solid foundation for Baylor to build upon.
