Texas Tech Offensive Players to Watch vs. Baylor in Week 9

The Red Raiders offense has some under-the-radar playmakers that Baylor should keep tabs on.

The Baylor Bears and Texas Tech Red Raiders will continue their Big 12 bout this upcoming season on Saturday at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock.

The all-time head-to-head series is neck and neck, as Baylor leads 40-39-1 dating back to 1929. The Bears beat Tech 27-24 last season in Waco.

Seven games into the first season under coach Joey McGuire, Tech is 4-3 (2-2 in Big 12) and will essentially need to win out in order to stay in contention for a Big 12 title.

QB Behren Morton

Morton has come out of nowhere this season despite being the third-string quarterback to begin the year. He's shown impressive mobility and poise in four appearances, going 78 and 124 passing for 886 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions.

RB SaRodorick Thompson

Thompson seems like he's been with the Red Raiders for years. He leads the team in rush attempts (79) and rush yards (369) and has three rushing touchdowns. Fellow running back Tahj Brook leads the team with six rushing scores, but Thompson remains the feature back on the goal line.

He's also added 15 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown this season.

WR Xavier White

White is Tech's leading receiver this season with 409 yards. He's also tied for first on the team with 31 catches and three receiving touchdowns. He's coming off his best game of the year, as he totaled eight catches for 139 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 48-10 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers.
