2022 Big 12 Coaching Rankings; Where is Baylor's Aranda?

Bears’ Dave Aranda lands high in latest poll

With Big 12 football teams prepping for the start of the season in August, things are already heating up when it comes to ranking the best coaches in the league.

CBS recently released their 2022 college football head coaching rankings, with Baylor’s Dave Aranda landing at No. 2 among Big 12 coaches.

That’s a big leap from last year and a fair assessment for the Bears football program under the helm of Aranda moving into the upcoming season.

Aranda, 45, is entering his third season as the head coach of the Baylor football team and is 14-9 overall during his two years in Waco, Texas.

He guided the Bears to a Big 12 title in 2021, along with a 21-7 Sugar Bowl victory over Mississippi, with lofty goals to improve upon last year's 12-2 season (7-2 in Big 12 play).

Last year's 12 wins by Baylor is the most victories in a season in program history.

Below is a complete list of the 10 coaches ranked in the Big 12 Conference by CBS.

No. 10: Joey McGuire, Texas Tech.

No. 9: Neal Brown, West Virginia.

No. 8: Brent Venables, Oklahoma.

No. 7: Lance Leipold, Kansas.

No. 6: Steve Sarkisian, Texas.

No. 5: Sonny Dykes, Texas Christian University.

No. 4: Chris Klieman, Kansas State.
