Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears have been getting busy for the last week, and the football program has eight new Bears to show for it.

After a lull in the recruiting game, the team has skyrocketed to a tie for No. 1 in the nation in the number of recruits committed for the 2023 class — right along with Joey McGuire's Texas Tech team. With this influx, Baylor has moved into the top-15 in 247's rankings for recruiting in 2023. The Bears cannot be stopped.

In just the last seven days, the Bears have collected commitments from four-star cornerback Tay'Shawn Wilson, three-star defensive tackle Jaren Woods, three-star athlete Bryson Washington — who flipped his commitment from SMU — three-star defensive tackle DK Kalu, three-star offensive lineman Sean Thompkins from Georgia, three-star safety DJ Coleman and more.

Now, that's an alphabet soup of names, and those names were dropped in the Baylor hat all within the span of a week. With Austin Novosad in the mix — and still committed despite offers from Ohio State and Texas A&M — Baylor has two four-stars and 16 three-stars in the mix for 2023.

That group is also good enough for the most in Texas.

Of course, a large number of recruits does not ensure a great class, but Aranda is building with a strategy. The rich have gotten richer, and the future of Baylor football under Aranda has started to take shape. Buckle up for one of the better classes in Baylor history.
