Baylor QB Target Walker White Commits to Auburn

White, a 2024 four-star, chose Auburn over Baylor and Clemson.

Another Baylor quarterback target is taking his talents elsewhere, as Little Rock (AR) Christian Academy signal-caller Walker White announces his commitment to Auburn over Baylor and Clemson.

As a junior, White led Little Rock Christian Academy to a 9-4 record, completing 53.2 percent of his passes for 1,975 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed 102 times for 837 yards and 16 touchdowns.

The No. 13 quarterback in the class of 2024, White will join an Auburn team that many had expected to secure a commitment from the 2024 class' No. 12 quarterback, Air Noland. The Tigers are currently without a clear starter under center, as its 2022 passing attack produced more interceptions (12) than touchdowns (nine).

It's another swing and miss at a blue-chip quarterback recruit for Baylor, who recently lost Dripping Springs (TX) four-star Austin Novosad – a longtime Baylor commit – to Oregon during the early signing period. Days later, Willis (TX) five-star DJ Lagway committed to Florida over Baylor.

Since Dave Aranda took the helm in Jan. 2020, the Bears have signed just one blue-chip quarterback out of high school. That quarterback, Alvin (TX) Shadow Creek four-star Kyron Drones, transferred to Virginia Tech in December.

Baylor's quarterback depth chart now runs four players deep, thanks in large part to aggressive portal recruiting. Transfer Sawyer Robertson (Mississippi State) figures to challenge incumbent starter Blake Shapen for the starting job, while transfer RJ Martinez (Northern Arizona) and freshman Cade Tessier (Montgomery Lake Creek) add much-needed depth.
