What Dave Aranda has done as the coach of the Baylor Bears in such a short period of time is a truly remarkable rebuild. After going 2-7 in his first season as coach, it appeared that the Bears would be a year or two away from returning to Big 12 contender status.

However, that would not remotely be the case, as in Aranda's second season in 2021 the Bears would go 12-2, winning the Big 12 and securing a Sugar Bowl victory over the Ole Miss Rebels.

Of course, while Aranda and the Bears have seen practically instant success, if they want to maintain said success they must recruit at a high level. So far, Aranda and his staff have shown no issues with doing this.

In the 2023 recruiting cycle, the Bears have already landed an impressive 25 verbal commits, one of which is in the S199. Their success on the recruiting trail has landed the Bears the No. 16 overall class in the latest Sports Illustrated top-25 recruiting class rankings.

If the Bears keep winning on the field, landing recruits will continue to come easy for Aranda and his staff. From there, continued success on the recruiting trail will in turn fuel winning on the field, as Baylor hopes to remain perennial Big 12 championship favorites moving forward
