Boise State drops out of KenPom top 50 heading into Christmas break

The Boise State men’s basketball team is down to No. 52 in KenPom following an 81-66 road loss to Nevada in last weekend’s Mountain West opener. 

The Broncos (8-4, 0-1) had jumped up to No. 45 in KenPom after securing a signature victory over Saint Mary’s to close non-conference play. The Gaels are sitting at No. 33 in KenPom. 

Boise State is off all week with a looming home matchup against New Mexico (10-2, 1-0), the defending MWC regular-season champion, on Dec. 30. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. Mountain time at ExtraMile Arena. 

Utah State (10-1, 1-0) is the top MWC team in KenPom at No. 29, followed by No. 51 San Diego State (6-4, 1-0), Boise State, No. 68 New Mexico, No. 76 Colorado State (9-3, 0-1), No. 86 Nevada (9-3, 1-0) and No. 87 Grand Canyon (7-4, 1-0).
