The No. 6 Colorado Buffaloes picked up a dominating 80-57 win over the Washington Huskies on Sunday afternoon at Alaska Airlines Arena. They shot 58.3 percent from the field in route to the 23-point blowout. It was the third straight road win for JR Payne’s squad, who improved to 9-2 in conference play.

Colorado (19-3, 9-2 Pac-12) came out of the gate hot and led 24-15 after the first quarter. The Buffaloes continued their strong play in the second to build an insurmountable 50-28 lead at halftime. Aaronette Vonleh led all scorers with 21 points, twelve of which came in the first half. She was among three Colorado starters – Quay Miller (14 points) and Maddie Nolan (11 points) – who finished in double-figures. Dalayah Daniels led the Huskies with 14 points, while freshman guard Sayvia Sellers added 12 points off the bench in a losing effort.

With the win, the Buffaloes improved to 17-16 all-time against the Huskies. They’ve also won five straight against their Pacific Northwest counterparts and haven’t lost in Seattle since February 9, 2020.

With seven games remaining in the regular season, the Buffaloes return home for a pair of contests against Oregon and Oregon State. They’ll take on Oregon on Friday, February 9, followed by an important rematch against No. 18 Oregon State on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 11). The Beavers shocked the Buffs 68-62 in Corvallis, Ore. last month.

As it stands currently, Colorado will have four straight games against ranked teams in the course of a 15-day stretch. Three of them coming on the road with No. 20 Utah, No. 15 USC, and No. 7 UCLA.
