Proud parents cheer on Shelomi Sanders after scoring first points for the Colorado Buffaloes

Deion and Pilar shared their joy following Shelomi’s three-point shot

The Colorado Buffaloes improved to 8-1 behind another strong effort on both sides of ball against Air Force.

Frida Forman led all scorers with 23 points. Additionally, the 7th-ranked Buffs had five blocked shots on defense and held the Lady Cadets to just 3-of-22 shooting from beyond the arc.

With a little over two minutes to go in the game, Shelomi checked in for her first ever appearance as a member of the Colorado women’s basketball team.

It’s been a courageous comeback for Shelomi, having to fight through a lingering injury suffered in the offseason.

“Please show my baby girl some love,” said Deion Sanders on Instagram. “She broke her hand and is just getting her 1st opportunity today to play with our great @CUbuffswbb.”

Her mom also chimed with enthusiasm and support.

“It felt really good,” Shelomi told Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera. “You know I’ve been out because of my thumb, and slowly working my way back. I didn’t expect to get in but, I’m going to take my shot and it went in and I was happy!”
