The Colorado Buffaloes are one of the hottest attractions in college football and the numbers are backing that up. Just two weeks into the season, Deion Sanders has shocked the naysayers with CU rolling into the Top 25 rankings.
An amazing accomplishment, but still not what truly counts. The City of Boulder made $18 million last week for the Nebraska showdown, according to Coach Prime via Well Off Media. It was a record-setting event at CU for Sanders' home debut. This is well above any projections set prior to the year.
The Nebraska fans who made the trip definitely gave a generous donation to watch the Huskers start Matt Rhule's tenure with a second consecutive loss.
Colorado beat Nebraska 38-14 last Saturday at Folsom Field. A third straight victory for the Buffs in the "Red Letter" rivalry, which hasn't been a successful series for the Huskers in non-conference play. It was one of the most-anticipated matchups for both teams going into the season.
The Rocky Mountain Showdown welcomes Colorado State into Boulder for a 92nd meeting of in-state rivals. Colorado looks to make it six straight wins in the series and retain the Centennial Cup for another year. A 10 p.m. ET kickoff Saturday on ESPN.
