Shedeur Sanders will return to Colorado for his final year and has a lot of work ahead of him. While he's been touted as the third-best QB in this year's NFL Draft class, there's a good chance he'll be among the top five picks in 2025. The Buffs "Grown" QB has surpassed the 10,000-yard mark for his career and will crack the 100 TD plateau later this year.

With all these accomplishments being split between Jackson State and CU, some even doubted that his game would translate over to the Power Five level. One of those who has never viewed Sanders as a top-tier talent is Matt Miller. The ESPN analyst recently dropped his pro comparison for the Buffs standout and believes Miami Dolphins' QB Tua Tagovailoa has a similar game.

“(Shedeur) is so surgical and accurate, and the touch passes are there, and he’s poised, like Tua," Miller said. “He’s not exceptionally mobile, but he’s gonna give you something. I think Shedeur Is probably a better runner just because he doesn’t have the injury history of a Tua right now. But I can’t think of a player I’ve been more impressed by this season. I love watching (SS2) play.”

Tagovailoa, who came from Nick Saban's system at Alabama, was the fifth-overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Miami has benefited greatly with him under Mike McDaniel's direction. Tua led the NFL in passing yards with 4,624, breaking Joe Namath’s single-season record by a former Alabama player.

Sanders might have a similar path in the league as Colorado best passer since Kordell Stewart. Coach Prime's youngest son broke CU's single-season mark with 3,230 yards last year.
