Already having a 13-3 advantage, more went right for Georgia to begin the second half. Running back Brian Herrien miraculously caught a one-handed pass on third and long to keep UGA's drive moving.

The Gators halted the drive to force another Rodrigo Blankenship field goal to put the Bulldogs ahead 16-3. It seemed that even when the Gators were right, they somehow ended up being wrong.

However, the luck slightly turned on the ensuing drive. The first play of the series was a 27-yard completion from Trask to wide receiver Trevon Grimes on the right sideline. Even still, the Gators stayed in the fashion of the first half when Trask got sacked to lose 19 yards two plays later. To make it worse, a delay of game penalty happened before the snap on the next play to lose five more yards.

It was just how UF's drives looked all game: promising starts and empty finishes. Punter Tommy Townsend came back on the field on an unbelievable fourth and 42. The 32-yard kick fair caught by Dominick Blaylock found the Dawgs with the ball again at their own 28-yard line.

The next play, running back D'Andre Swift brought the ball to the Florida 48-yard line. However, a series of penalties backed UGA up and forced an eventual punt.

UF moved down the field and converted on a must-have fourth and two to get just outside the red zone. Then, Van Jefferson changed the game.

Trask rolled out to his right on first down and threw a back-shoulder to Jefferson into the end zone. Jefferson proved his manhood and out-muscled cornerback Mark Webb. It was a one-possession game.

Don't you just love college football?

The Gators had lost the scoreboard battle, and every battle on the field essentially through three quarters. The result? a one-possession deficit with 13:51 to play in its biggest rivalry.

But then, the Dawgs bit again, and they cut deeper than they had all game. This time it was a potential dagger. After multiple runs by Swift, a play-action and coverage miscommunication found WR Lawrence Cager wide open for a touchdown pass of 48 yards. It was now 22-10 in favor of the red and black.

The next drive, a Kyle Pitts drop and a mix up before the snap kicked off the drive. This mix up caused head coach Dan Mullen to visibly scream at wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales. The frustration of the entire game was clearly getting to Mullen and seemingly the entire UF sideline.

But, the Gators still strung together a drive and moved the ball. The 14-point game just felt lethargic. It felt like UF was down double what it actually was. A few pivotal fourth down conversions later, Freddie Swain had the ball in the end zone and it was somehow 24-17 with 3:11 to play.

I really can't tell you how this game was this close. Georgia had dominated all game, yet the Gators had a legitimate chance, despite arguably their worst performance of the season.

However, the next drive, Fromm delivered a clutch pass to Eli Wolf on third and seven to essentially ice the game. UGA could run the clock down to zero.

Game over.

Georgia left Jacksonville winners of the Cocktail Party for the third-straight year, keeping its hopes of an SEC East title alive and essentially finishing Florida's.
