FIU Football: Three Players Enter Transfer Portal Week of New Year's

As the new year commences, three notable Panthers have entered the transfer portal within the last few days: offensive lineman Cole Smith, defensive lineman Lataire Kinsler and tight end Christian Pedersen.

Cole Smith 

Currently standing at 6'4" and 310 pounds, Smith can play all five positions along the offensive line. Smith did see action as a JUCO player (College of the Canyons) and has already received an offer from Samford, an FCS school.

Latarie Kinsler 

Kinsler gained starting experience in 2022 for FIU, but only saw action in three games this past season. In 2022, Kinsler had 20 total tackles and one sack.

Christian Pedersen

Pedersen transferred from Louisville last year, but with the Panthers he saw action in six games on special teams. Standing at 6'3" and 239 pounds, Pedersen should receive plenty of G5 offers.

At the moment, 10 total players from the 2023 roster have entered the transfer portal for FIU.
