HBCU Football Schedule, How To Watch | Week 12

HBCU football is heading into its final full slate of games for the SWAC and MEAC in Week 12.

HOUSTON - HBCU football is heading into its final full slate of games for the SWAC and MEAC conferences in Week 12.  Postseason hopes and dreams are on the line as Prairie View A&M, Alcorn State, and Grambling still have an opportunity to win the SWAC West title.

The Panthers control their fate as a win gets them in the SWAC Championship Game vs. Florida A&M. Alcorn has to defeat Jackson State and hope for the Hornets to upset Prairie View. However, the G-Men could stake a claim for the title should PV and Alcorn lose and come out victorious over Southern in the 50th Bayou Classic. The Wacky SWAC West! The 2023 Cricket SWAC Football Championship will be in Tallahassee at Bragg Memorial Stadium for a 3 PM CT on Saturday, Dec. 2.

The Florida Classic between Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M will be festive and exciting as the two teams clash on Saturday afternoon. VA Union is motoring to meet Kutztown University in Round 1 of the Division II Playoff at Andre Reed Stadium.

Finally, following Howard's upset of NCCU in D.C., the Bison can win the MEAC Football Championship by defeating the Morgan State Bears. However, Damon Wilson's team can win the title should the Bears defeat Howard and Delaware State beat NCCU. The Eagles win with a victory today and a Howard loss.

Could today be the last time on the sidelines for several head football coaches not named Buddy Pough? On Tuesday, Southern sacked Eric Dooley, and rumors of Texas Southern's leader, Clarence McKinney, were reported. However, TSU's VP of Athletics, Dr. Kevin Granger, debunked the gossip. Still, Granger did not give McKinney and his program an unwavering vote of confidence in conversations with HBCU Legends.

The fans are rumbling about the futures of Fred McNair (Alcorn State), Cornell Maynor (AAMU), Dawson Odums (Norfolk State), and Hue Jackson (Grambling State). Will changes happen? We shall see.

Farewell to the legend, Coach Buddy Pough.
