While the John Calipari era didn't end the way many Kentucky fans would have wanted, there were still some excellent memories, including the 2012 National Championship.

During Calipari's time in Lexington, he developed some elite talent, including many players who are NBA All-Stars right now.

When it was official that Calipari would no longer be the head basketball coach at Kentucky, he put out a video saying goodbye to Lexington, and many of his former players responded.

Let's take a look at what some of Kentucky's former stars had to say about Coach Calipari saying goodbye to Lexington.

John Wall: Love ya, Coach
Karl-Anthony Towns: Love you Coach
Tyrese Maxey: Goat!!!!
Bam Adebayo: Real One
Boogie Cousins: Love 4L coach!
Brandon Knight: Love you, coach! We are thankful for you!!
Tyler Herro: Heart Emoji
Jacob Toppin: Love you, coach!!
Ashton Hagans: Real One! Love ya Coach
Antonio Reeves: Much love, coach!

Coach Calipari didn't have a ton of tournament success during his final few seasons in Lexington, as he hadn't gotten out of the first weekend since 2019, but his current and former players love him.

While, at times, it was frustrating for Kentucky fans, he did everything in his power to get his players to the next level so they could help their families.

Hopefully, Kentucky is able to get back to NCAA Tournament success under their next head coach, but it will be awful weird not to see Calipari coach the Kentucky Wildcats.

Calipari produced some of the best players in the NBA during his time in Lexington.
