The 2024 NCAA Tournament is still about three months away, but with ten or so games in the books for each college basketball program the March Madness field is beginning to come into focus.

ESPN's Joe Lunardi releases a weekly bracketology update and after a big win for John Calipari and Kentucky, Lunardi moved the Wildcats up to a five seed in the South Region, where they would play in Pittsburgh in a first round matchup against a dangerous Princeton team out of the Ivy League.

Superstitious Kentucky fans certainly won't want to see a first round matchup against a team from New Jersey after the debacle against Saint Peter's a few years ago, and folks who are plugged into college basketball won't love a matchup with the Tigers who are 10-1 this season and come in at No. 46 at KenPom, boasting a top 20 offense in the country.

The rest of Kentucky's pod is a very strong group of mid-major powerhouses, with No. 4 seed Florida Atlantic hoping to get back to the Final 4 and No. 13 seed Liberty representing another very dangerous double-digit seed.

Kansas is the one seed in the region, followed by SEC foe Tennessee at No. 2 and Illinois at No. 3.

Tennessee and Kentucky are two of nine SEC teams in this iteration of Lunardi's bracketology report, representing the most of any conference ahead of the Big 12 (8) and the Big Ten (7).

Joining Kentucky and Tennessee in the Field of 68 from the SEC are Auburn (4) Alabama (6) Texas A&M (7) Ole Miss (8) Florida (10) Mississippi State (10) and South Carolina (play-in).

The Wildcats (8-2) take on Louisville on December 21 followed by Illinois State on December 29 before beginning conference play in January.
