John Calipari believes a former Kentucky legend would be a great basketball coach

This former Kentucky Wildcat might have a future in coaching.

John Calipari is a legendary head basketball coach and has developed some outstanding players during his time in Lexington.

Coach Calipari has put all kinds of players in the NBA and many of the top players in the league currently played their college hoops for the Kentucky Wildcats.

One of the most legendary players to step foot on campus since Coach Calipari has been in Lexington is John Wall. He became an instant fan favorite when he did his signature dance at Big Blue Madness. During his time in Lexington Wall averaged 16.6 points per to go with 6.5 assists. He was then selected first overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. Wall hasn't played in an NBA game since the 2021-2022 season and is now hosting a podcast called Point Game.

He recently had Coach Calipari on the podcast, and they discussed whether or not Wall would make a good coach. Calipari said, "If that's what John (Wall) would choose to do, he'd be great at it. I would say get on an NBA staff because of NIL, the transfer portal I'm not sure where this is all going. But you would be great around college kids. Because of the resources and all of the things you've had."

Wall went on to say he loves what Tyler Ulis is doing as he is now a part of Kentucky's coaching staff.

Wall was an incredible basketball player at Kentucky and in the NBA, and now it looks like another career path could be on the way for a former Wildcat legend.
