Kentucky's 2024 recruiting class is full of athletic talent

John Calipari has a good recruiting class coming in for 2024.

The Kentucky Wildcats have six players in their 2024 recruiting class, and each brings something different to the table.

This class has a solid mix of freak athletes and sound basketball players, which is the type of class John Calipari tends to succeed with.

The Wildcats have all of their bases covered in this class with a healthy mix of guards and forwards. Sometimes, when we talk about Kentucky recruiting classes being very athletic, those players don't end up being great basketball players. But in this class, there is a healthy mix of players who can play the game at a high level with a high IQ and athletes who will be physical, rebound, and jump out of the gym. You need a healthy mix of these players on your roster to have scoring, rebounding, and physicality. This is something the Wildcats missed last season, which led to the early exit from the NCAA Tournament.

Boogie Fland and Travis Perry are both players who will score the basketball at a high level and help facilitate the offense. They both likely will be the best shooters on the team unless a sharpshooting transfer comes in via the portal.

The other guys, Somto Cyril, Karter Knox, Jayden Quaintance, and Billy Richmond, are elite athletes who will defend at a high level. These guys can score the basketball as well, but their high-flying ability, physicality all over the floor, and ability to move quickly on defense will help the Wildcats next season.

This 2024-25 Kentucky roster has the making of an excellent team if Coach Calipari can get a few pieces out of the portal.
