Meet your 2019 recruit: Joe Ervin, RB, South Carolina

Former South Pointe High School (SC) running back Joe Ervin is a fast, shifty rusher with infinite potential in Chris Klieman's offense.

While running for South Pointe High School in South Carolina, Joe Ervin was nearly unstoppable. During his senior campaign, the 5'10", 190lb back rushed for 1,964 yards and 23 touchdowns, and he topped 200 rushing yards in each of the final five games of the year.

Ervin was a top 50 running back prospect for the class of 2019 and will be added to a stable of brand new Wildcat rushers that head coach Chris Klieman and Company have brought in since December.

The December signee was fielding offers from a slew of non Power 5 programs, but ultimately chose to sign with Kansas State as the only big time program offer he received. He also took visits at other Power 5 programs including Clemson, Penn State and South Carolina.

The highly decorated high school prospect will compete for playing time this year with transfers Jordan Brown and James Gilbert, but should get an opportunity to showcase his speed and elusiveness early.
