Former LSU Guard Justice Hill Transferring to Loyola Marymount

LSU guard Justice Hill will transfer to Loyola Marymount after just one season with the Tigers basketball program. Hill was one of three players from Murray State to follow Head Coach Matt McMahon to Baton Rouge.
Hill averaged 5.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game for the Tigers in his lone season with LSU.
Before making the move to the Bayou State, Hill was a First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference member in 2022 where he averaged 13 points and five assists a night.

Hill had an up and down year with LSU in 2022-23. After leaving the team for a few weeks for personal reasons, he never got his mojo back for McMahon’s group. A key contributor at times, his inconsistency resulted in limited minutes.
Before the start of the season, McMahon stated that his three players who followed him to LSU (KJ Williams, Trae Hannibal and Hill) would all have to earn everything they get in Baton Rouge:
“The guys I have a history with, they’re not entitled to anything, they’ll have to earn their role on this team,” McMahon said. “I definitely don’t want any player thinking on Oct. 31 they’ve earned their role and solidified these 33 minutes a game for the season or them thinking there’s no hope for them to get into the rotation. Everyone’s new and a lot of these guys haven’t played together before, they’re learning me, we’re building these relationships and trying to develop that trust.”
After a difficult first season under Coach McMahon, it was a given that a few players would enter the NCAA Transfer portal, and Hill became the first to do so.
