Update: Five-Star Guard Cam Thomas has Officially Signed With LSU

LSU basketball received a commitment from five-star guard Cam Thomas Monday morning. Thomas is the No. 25 overall recruit of the 2020 class and No. 6 overall at the shooting guard position.

By Monday afternoon, coach Will Wade said Thomas had signed with the program officially.

"He's as prolific a scorer as I've ever seen," Wade said. "He's as good a scorer I've seen come out of high school for as long as I've been coaching. He's a great, great scorer."

Thomas, a 6-foot-3, 180 pound guard chose the Tigers over Auburn, NC State and UCLA. With Thomas joining the class, LSU now sports the No. 16 recruiting class in the country according to 247sports.

LSU has already signed three-star guard Jalen Cook out of Walker High School and three-star center Bradley Ezewiro to bring the 2020 class to three players signed.

With senior guards Skylar Mays and Marlon Taylor leaving the program after this season and possibly Javonte Smart, the Tigers will likely need to retool their guard rotation next season. With Cook and Thomas signed, Wade is off to a promising start.

LSU is 2-1 during the 2019 season, following up a road loss to VCU with a 10-point win over Nicholls on Saturday.
