Miami Hurricanes Climb AP Poll Again
With a 4-0 record, Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes continue to climb the Associated Press college football rankings. From not being in the poll at all, to #22, to #20, and now #18.
Miami deserves the opportunity to once again be inside the AP Poll top 20 and also deserves a shot to soon be in the top if it continues on this path. Here are some of the primary statistics that are lending a helping hand to the Canes rising again:
#3 rushing defense in the country by allowing just 48 yards on the ground.
#13 in the nation by allowing only 273 yards of total offense.
#13 by allowing only 12.5 points per game.
Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is putting up impressive numbers that are earning respect. He’s 74 of 99, 74.7%, 1,042 yards, 10.5 average per attempt, 11 touchdowns and 1 interception.
Three receivers with at least 17 receptions and at least two touchdown receptions.
Five different running backs averaging over 5.2 yards per carry.
Overall, the Canes are making noise and earning respect. Now they need to heal up and utilize this off week to get better and prepare for Georgia Tech (Oct. 7).
