Rueben Bain was selected to every freshman All-American team in 2023.

The talented edge rusher started ten games for Miami in his rookie campaign and finished as the team's co-leader in sacks at 7.5. Arguably his best game was against Clemson in Miami's 28-20 double overtime win. He recorded a career high 8 tackles with 2 sacks and a forced fumble. He pressured Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik 10 times.

Pro Football Focus posted Friday on their X account the freshman leaders in quarterback pressures from last season.

It should come as no surprise to see Bain as the leader in that category. In fact, it wasn't close. "Hurricane" Bain recorded 45 QB pressures last season, ten more than the next freshman on the list. Clemson's TJ Parker came in second with 35, followed by Washinton's Isaiah Ward with 33. The PFF post also includes Florida's Caleb Banks with 24, but he was incorrectly listed by the Gators as a redshirt freshman last season. In reality, it was his third season.

Bain will be a pillar on Miami's defense again this season and can certainly be projected to record double-digit sack totals as a sophomore.
