The Miami Hurricanes are just fifteen days away from opening their 2023 season.

Before Miami faces the other Miami on September 1st, the Canes are bringing up their intensity levels out on the Greentree practice fields.

On Tuesday evening, Miami held a practice that was closed to the media and fans. I had some info passed to me by one of the VIP guests. It's great getting someone else's perspective on players I've been observing closely for the past few weeks.

The majority of Tuesday's practice was spent going 11 on 11.

WR Colbie Young was very impressive, I was told. This matches up with everything I've seen in practices going back to the spring. We're expecting a breakout season from the former JUCO transfer.

Slot receiver Xavier Restrepo was described to me as looking "un-guardable."

He said WR Tyler Harrell "is a burner!" However, it sounds like Harrell and the quarterbacks are still perfecting their timing and connections.

Tyler Van Dyke reportedly had a very good practice. He said Emory Williams probably threw a bit better than Jacurri Brown, but Brown processes his reads more quickly.

The running backs had another impressive day, with Ajay Allen, Mark Fletcher and Don Chaney Jr. standing out the most. Allen has been standing out to me since his first day on campus. I wonder if he can challenge for the first string spot.

The offensive line was described to me as "better at holding their blocks" than last season.
