After a stellar 2023 offensive line class, the Miami Hurricanes were back at it again with the addition of offensive tackle Juan Minaya.

He was just in Coral Gables for the Hurricanes spring game, and it was the tipping point for the 6-foot-6 and 325-pound offensive lineman to join the fold with the Canes.

When reached for comment after the spring game, Minaya stated that “Culture and coaches” stood out to him about his trek to South Florida.

Playing for Paramus (N.J.) Catholic, Minaya was a part of a scheme that played power football. Outside zone, operating double teams, and other traditional running plays that one will see during college football Saturdays and NFL Sundays.

The key component and takeaway from watching him play would be power. Minaya could project at tackle or guard once he enrolls at the University of Miami.

He had previously earned offers from the likes of Michigan State, Penn State, Kentucky, Florida, Ole Miss, Syracuse, West Virginia, Boston College and Pittsburgh among other college football programs.

Minaya was the fifth prospect that committed to Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes since the start of April, as well as the fourth player to announce for Miami since April 14.

Look for the Canes to continue to climb the recruiting rankings, with 247 Sports already having moved Miami up to the No. 29 recruiting class in the country.
