Sunshine State offensive lineman Talks About His Recruitment and Relationship With Miami

Standout recruit discusses future visit plans and his relationship with the Hurricanes

While the coaching carousel chaos is ensuing across the country, that hasn't stopped the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff recruiting at a high level.

Last month, Miami hosted 2026 in-state offensive lineman JJ Sparks. The Bolles School standout holds offers from Miami, Central Florida, South Florida, Duke, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh, and Iowa State to name a few.

While his recruitment is still in the early stages for the 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive tackle, he spoke on his visit to Miami last month, returning to Miami for spring practice, and more.

"My family and I visited Miami on January 27. We had a great time and really enjoyed it! The campus is beautiful and it was cool to meet some of the current players in the offensive line room and watch Coach (Alex) Mirabal break down film," said Sparks.

From that visit alone, the Sunshine State offensive lineman planned another visit to Miami.

"I'm probably going to be visiting Miami on March 19 for a spring practice and then hoping to catch another one in April."

Coach Mirabal made a lasting impression on The Bolles School standout to not only plan one visit but also look forward to two visits to Miami. However, Miami isn't the only school he is visiting for spring practice.

"Hoping to watch a spring practice at UCF, Florida State, Florida, and Notre Dame before my team starts spring ball."

Sparks said at this time everyone is recruiting about the same as no one has made themselves standout early in the recruiting process. With that being said, Sparks does have an idea when he wants to make his college decision.

"Probably want to make my college decision the summer before my senior year."

Sparks seems very intrigued by Miami early on in his recruitment. He is currently unrated in all services, but based on his offer list and film, that fact will change after he attends football combines and camps.
