Will South Florida Wide Receiver Select Miami Hurricanes?

The commitment date is approaching

Miami has one wide receiver commitment in Waden Charles but who's next?

Going by On3's Chad Simmons, the Canes are in a position to be the choice of another top receiver. Koby Howard will make his college intentions known on March 30.

Howard's final list of schools includes Miami, Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, LSU, Missouri, and Tennessee. Back on Jan. 29, Howard gave the following statement about the Big 3 in Florida:

"Coach Billy Napier stopped by to chat with me this morning! The big 3 are showing major love this month."

More recently, there has been a continued buzz around Florida landing Howard, and he's been a frequent visitor to Miami and has also camped with the Hurricanes, so either of those two in-state programs could be his college selection. Florida State is a school Howard is familiar with due to him previously living in the Florida Panhandle and he's visited there as well.

On3's composite industry recruiting rankings have Howard as the No. 335 player in the nation, #51 wide receiver, and 48th player in the state of Florida.

Since Howard first came onto the recruiting scene as a freshman, he's been one of the most explosive wide receiver recruits in the nation. Originally playing for Pensacola (Fla.) Catholic for two years, Howard went to Davie (Fla.) Western this past season, and will finish his prep football career with Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna.

Here are the 2023 statistics for the 5-foot-11 and 175-pound receiver:

According to Howard's X account and playing in 10 games, he enters 2024 after a season with 65 receptions, 1,065 yards, 16.3 yards per catch, 8 touchdowns, 26 carries, 224 rushing yards, and a touchdown from a return.
