REPORT: Michigan To Hire Wink Martindale As Defensive Coordinator

In this story:
Per several reputable sources, including ESPN insider and Michigan alum Adam Schefter, Sherrone Moore and Michigan are set to hire Don "Wink" Martindale as defensive coordinator.
Michigan is planning to hire former Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale as its defensive coordinator, per sources. Deal still is being finalized but it is not expected to be an issue. The hire makes a lot of sense from a schematic standpoint since Martindale is credited with creating the defensive approach for the Baltimore Ravens in recent years. As Michigan fans know, both previous defensive coordinators — Mike Macdonald and Jesse Minter — came from Baltimore and learned a lot of what Martindale invented. Martindale's most recent stop was with the New York Giants, which was up and down at best.
