When you have a trio of potential NFL wide receivers like Michigan does, you'd expect the passing game to be more effective, but that's not been the case for U-M in 2019.

Juniors Tarik Black, Nico Collins and Donovan Peoples-Jones are as physically talented as you'd ever want in a pass catcher but the numbers don't reflect their skills. The trio has just 63 catches for 910 yards and seven touchdowns on the year.

It's hard to figure out what the receiving corps will do next year because we're unsure about the futures of the junior trio. They all have the opportunity to come back but there's a chance they'll all be gone. It could also be some combination in between.

Michael Spath has been asking about positional situations for next year on Twitter and on Inside the Huddle, and we've been discussing how U-M looks in each area. Here are the numbers when discussing the wide receiver room.

More than 1,000 people voted and 40 percent of the voter see the group being better in 2020. There will be a new quarterback running the offense, which is a huge part of wide receiver production, but we still just don't know how good these young receivers can or will be.

If all three junior receivers do head to the next level or to another program, it leaves the position room quite young and inexperienced. Freshmen Giles Jackson, Cornelius Johnson and Mike Sainristil have all played but they've accumulated just 11 catches for 138 yards and two scores. They're talented, speedy and fit Josh Gattis' offense better, but questions marks would certainly surround the group heading into the season.

Incoming freshmen Roman Wilson and AJ Henning are certainly talented but they'll be brand new and even more unproven than the current freshmen trio.

However it works out, the group will be fast and talented but very, very green. That could be good, but to me, it seems like the position could regress a little bit.

What do you think the junior trio will do? What will the group look like next fall? Comment below!!!
