Video: Michigan Hockey Coach Mel Pearson Talks About "Gamers" vs. Practice Guys

Mel Pearson and Jim Harbaugh apparently deal with the same kinds of things in two very different sports.

Michigan men's hockey head coach Mel Pearson is gearing up for his third season at the helm and is hoping to improve upon last year's fifth-place finish in the Big Ten. He spoke about that and also touched on an issue that seems to be plaguing Jim Harbaugh and the football Wolverines — performance in practice vs. in games.

Harbaugh recently said that the offense is "hitting their stride" despite lackluster performances through five games indicating that he's seeing something different in practice. Pearson explained how the same thing can happen in hockey and tried to illustrate how that makes a coach feel.
