19 OH LB Dezman Cooper Talks Michigan State

After a strong junior season at the high school level where he recorded over 80 tackles, Reynoldsburg (OH)2019 outside linebacker Dezman Cooper cemented his status as one of the top linebackers in the state of Ohio and in the Midwest and has continued to hear from #5 Michigan State throughout the recruiting process.

Spartan Nation recently spoke with Cooper about his recruitment and the 6-foot-2, 215 pound 3-star recruit gave some great insight.

Cooper currently holds an offer from Miami (OH) and also characterized his interest in Michigan State as being “high” and plans on visiting East Lansing at some point this spring.

Cooper, who has visited Michigan State previously, as he was on campus for a camp last June and took a visit for the Notre Dame game in September, said that he liked what he saw in his time in East Lansing.

“I like the atmosphere and the culture,” he said. “And that they’re in the Big Ten conference,” he said. “

During the course of his impressive junior season at the high school level, Cooper told Spartan Nation that he feels he improved in a couple of different areas, including his strength and reads.

“I got better at taking better pursuit angles and I got better at reading plays,” he said. “I got stronger and I was more aggressive.” Cooper is watching the Spartans closely and will be on campus this spring for a visit. He also plans to camp in East Lansing this summer.
