Michigan State To Host Rival Wolverines In Primetime Night Game At Spartan Stadium

The Spartans and Wolverines will clash under the lights in East Lansing this October!

Michigan State will host in-state rival Michigan in a primetime night game at Spartan Stadium this October.

NBC Sports, who will carry the broadcast, announced on Wednesday that the annual rivalry matchup between the Spartans and Wolverines will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. (EST) on Oct. 21 in East Lansing.

Primetime slot windows will be a regularity for Michigan State this fall, as the Spartans will play four games that will kickoff after 7 p.m. this fall. The Spartans also host Central Michigan at 7 p.m. on Fox Sports 1 on Sept. 1, travel to Ohio State on Oct. 11 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on NBC, and will travel to Detroit to host Penn State on Nov. 24 for for another 7:30 start time on NBC.

Michigan State also hosts Washington on Sept. 16 for a 5 p.m. kickoff. That game will be broadcast exclusively on NBC's steaming service — Peacock.

The Spartans have 3:30 p.m. kickoff's scheduled for games vs. Richmond (Sept. 9), vs. Maryland (Sept. 23) and a noon kickoff at Rutgers (Oct. 14). MSU's home game against Nebraska (Nov. 4), and road games at Iowa (Sept. 30), Minnesota (Oct. 28) and Indiana (Nov. 18) have not yet announced kickoff times.
