Spartans Arrive in San Antonio Ready for Some Fun and Football. Story and Video Up Now, As Always for FREE!

If the Mariachi band didn’t give it away, the sunglasses and lack of winter coats did. The Spartans are finally here in San Antonio and getting ready for their big January 2, 2009, showdown with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

 

The Spartans arrived earlier today to the fan fare of an excited host bowl committee and a traditional Mexican mariachi band. The players, coaches, and families were all smiles and glad to be in Texas.

 

As members of the bowl committee fretted about the 61 degree “cold spell,” the Spartans were all smiles as they entered their Marriott Rivercenter Hotel.

 

“It’s nice to be here,” was the happy sentiments of a sunglass wearing Trevor Anderson. “It sure is beautiful here,” was S Danny Fortener’s sentiments.

 

Coach Dantonio started his press conference with well wishes for his good friend Urban Meyer. Meyer is the Coach at the University of Florida who is taking a leave of absence for personal health reasons related to his heart.
