Your Week Nine Spartans in the NFL Report

Wide receiver Plaxico Burress reeled in five passes for 79 yards for the Jets in the team’s 27-11 stampede of the Bills. Fellow teammate and Spartan Eric Smith also contributed at safety, recording three tackles and a special teams’ tackle.

Devin Thomas, Greg Jones and the Giants upset the Patriots in a 24-20 thriller. Thomas returned three kicks for 42 yards, while Jones had one special teams tackle and assist. Brian Hoyer did not play for New England.

Wide out Derrick Mason saw action for the Texans in Houston’s 30-12 win over the Browns. He did not record any stats.

Brandon Fields watched most of the game while the Dolphins trounced the Chiefs, 31-3. When the Miami punter was on the field, he made Kansas City regret it. Fields had an excellent day, booting five balls for a 44.2 yard average, with his longest kick being of 55 yards. He also had a special teams’ tackle.

The Bengals vanquished the Titans, 24-17, as Domata Peko and Kyle Cook started for Cincinnati. Peko and the Bengals’ defense limited Javon Ringer to 11 yards on four carries and 14 yards on one reception. Peko, a defensive tackle, had two tackles in the contest. Cook did not have any stats at center.

Chris Rucker, Blair White, and Colts fell to the Falcons, 31-7. Rucker appeared at defensive back, but did not record any stats. White was not active for the contest.

Defensive tackle Brandon McKinney played but had no stats for the Ravens in the team’s 23-20 victory over the Steelers.

The Bears defeated the Eagles on Monday Night Football, 30-24. Spartan and Bear Kellen Davis had one reception for negative one yard in the win.
