Your Weekly Michigan State Spartans in the NFL Report

           The Bengals’ Domata Peko played a big role on defense in his team’s 30-20 victory over the Jaguars. He started at defensive tackle, recording four tackles and an assist. Fellow Bengal Kyle Cook started at center in the win.

           Javon Ringer had a busy day for the Titans in Tennessee’s 38-17 defeat at the hands of the Steelers. The former Spartan running back rushed the ball three times for twelve yards, caught six passes for sixteen yards, and recovered a fumble.

           The three Spartans on the Jets roster witnessed another loss as the team fell to the Patriots, 30-21. Safety Eric Smith was all over the field for New York, racking up five tackles, four assists, and a tackle for loss. Wide receiver Plaxico Burress reeled in three passes for 42 yards, while fellow wide out Derrick Mason had one catch for seven yards. Patriots quarterback Brian Hoyer did not play in New England’s win.

           Defensive tackle Ogemdi Nwagbuo had one assist in the Chargers’ 29-24 triumph over the Broncos. Denver defensive lineman Kevin Vickerson had one tackle, but injured his ankle in the game, landing himself on the injured reserve list. He is the second Spartan to be placed on the Broncos’ injured reserve list this year (Mark Dell was the first).

           The Colts had another tough day on Sunday, as the squad lost to the Chiefs, 28-24. Chris Rucker appeared at defensive back for the Colts but recorded no stats, while Blair White returned one punt for two yards in the defeat.

           Giants’ teammates Devin Thomas and Greg Jones both watched as their team fell to the Seahawks, 36-25. Thomas returned three kicks for 87 yards, with his longest being 37 yards. Jones had one tackle and one special teams tackle in the game.

           The Lions captured their fifth win of the season over the Bears on Monday Night Football. Tight end Kellen Davis did his part for Chicago, catching three passes for 25 yards and one touchdown in the 24-13 contest. Quarterback Drew Stanton was not active for Detroit.
