Spartans in the NFL- Week 7

 

Plaxico Burress and Eric Smith both had excellent performances for the Jets in the team’s 27-21 triumph over the Chargers. Burress starred at wide receiver, racking up four catches for 25 yards and three touchdowns. Smith started at safety, recording eight tackles and two assists. Chargers’ defensive tackle Ogemdi Nwagbuo was not active for the game.

Bears’ tight end Kellen Davis started but recorded no stats in his team’s 24-18 victory.

Brandon Fields had a busy day for the Dolphins, as Miami lost to the Broncos, 18-15. Fields punted eight times for an average of 49.6 yards per punt, with his longest punt being 64 yards.

MSU alum Drew Stanton was not active for the Lions’ 23-16 defeat to the Falcons.

The Raiders signed kicker Dave Rayner before the team’s contest with the Chiefs. Rayner was active for the game, but recorded no stats in Oakland’s 28-0 loss.

Titans’ back Javon Ringer caught one pass for 17 yards and rushed three times for 31 yards, but it was not enough as the Texans trounced the Titans by the score of 41-7. Fellow Spartan Derrick Mason caught one pass for seven yards for the triumphant Texans.

The Colts’ Blair White and Chris Rucker watched as their team was blown out by the Saints, 62-7. White returned one punt for 13 yards and Rucker played but recorded no stats in the game.

Brandon McKinney and the Ravens suffered a narrow 12-7 defeat to the Jaguars in Monday Night Football. McKinney did his part, though; recording three tackles, an assist, and a forced fumble at defensive tackle.
