Update on the MSU Fight That Included Athletes from Track, Football and Hockey

Â
Â
I spoke late today with Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart DunningsIII. He informed me of some new information on the fight that happened nine days ago involving MSU athletes.
Â

  • He was contacted by an MSU attorney on Friday asking him if he would give them time to submit some names that they said hadn’t been interviewed and that they felt were germane to the investigation. He gave them until today to give him those names.
  • He also informed me that there are some details from the ELPD reports submitted to him that he was still waiting for clarification on.
  • He told me when I asked if he had a timeline to press charges he said, “No! I want all the information and clarification so that when I do, they charges are warranted and are correct. There is no rush, there is getting it right.”

Â
Regardless of your political persuasion, you have to commend Mr. Dunnings who is doing a tremendous job of not jumping to any conclusions. He is doing a very thorough and frankly good job with the case based upon information that I know, but can’t report.

Â
Let’s be honest, anyone that committed a crime (regardless of being an athlete or not) needs to be charged. He is trying to be thorough and detailed and I commend him.
