Forty Spartan Student-Athletes Set To Receive Degrees

Forty Spartan student-athletes will take part in commencement ceremonies on the Michigan State campus this weekend. Thirty-eight student-athletes will receive their undergraduate degree while Chase Gianacakos and Matt Sokol will receive their Master of Science degrees.

"On behalf of the entire athletic department, I'd like to offer my congratulations to our winter graduates," MSU athletic director Bill Beekman said. "Our student-athletes often make headlines for what they accomplish in their sports, but it's important to recognize that their performance in the classroom is every bit as impressive. Some of them will continue on at MSU while pursuing advanced degrees, but for those that are moving on, I can't wait to see what excellence awaits them."
