Purdue had some of its best individual performances all season in Saturday’s 40-14 victory over Maryland. That was recognized by the Big Ten on Monday, with two different Boilermakers taking home conference awards this week.

Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week — Jack Plummer

In his third career start and fourth appearance for Purdue, Plummer posted career highs in numerous stats and even broke a Purdue school record. His 80.5 completion percentage broke the Purdue record for quarterbacks with more than 40 passing attempts in a game.

It was also the highest in the Big Ten since 2000. Plummer finished the day 33-for-41 passing for 420 yards — the second-most by a freshman in school history — and three touchdowns.

Big Ten Freshman of the Week — David Bell

Bell was another guy who had a big performance for Purdue on Saturday. He caught nine passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns. As it was with Plummer, it was Bell’s best performance as a Boilermaker.
