This has been a good week for Purdue football, and it got even better Tuesday with some good news on the recruiting trail.

Purdue locked up two more recruits for the class of 2020 when 4-star wide receiver Maliq Carr and 3-star offensive lineman Nalin Fox announced their intentions on Twitter to attend Purdue.

The two Michigan natives bring Purdue’s 2020 class to No. 26 in the nation and No. 4 in the Big Ten.

Carr, the Oak Park wide receiver, chose Purdue over Georgia. Currently ranked as the No. 193 recruit nationally, Carr will add to the already talented group of wideouts at Purdue. At 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, he will bring much-needed size to the Boilermakers, who currently use 5-foot-9 Rondale Moore, 5-foot-11 Jackson Anthrop and 6-foot-2 David Bell on the outside this season.

Along with Georgia, he chose Purdue over schools such as Auburn, LSU and Michigan, his hometown school.

Unlike most recruits, Carr plans on taking on double-duty for Purdue athletics.

Along with joining the football team, Carr will be a preferred walk-on for Matt Painter and the 2020-21 Purdue basketball team. Last season for Oak Park, Carr averaged 16 points and 14 rebounds per game.

Carr will be the first Boilermaker to play on both teams at the same time since Charles Davis during the 2004-05 season.

The other recruit that Brohm locked up over the weekend was Nalin Fox. The Pontaic, Mich. native currently attends the Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy.

The offensive lineman is an important get at a position that has struggles this season. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound lineman flipped his verbal commitment from Toledo to Purdue on Sunday. He becomes the fourth lineman in Purdue’s 2020 class.
