WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Last week, Purdue showed that it can hang around in the Big Ten when the Boilermakers lost 26-20 to Iowa in a very tough environment in Iowa City

This week, they return to Ross-Ade Stadium to face Illinois (Noon ET; TV: BTN).

Purdue is 2-5 on the season and 1-3 in the Big Ten. Its lone Big Ten win came against Maryland two weeks ago at home. Consecutive wins at Ross-Ade Stadium would be a good thing.

Purdue has been led by freshman wide receiver David Bell, who has won back-to-back Big Ten Freshman of the week awards and has recorded over 100 receiving yards the past two weeks.

Illinois enters the game at 3-4 and 1-3 in the Big Ten. They are coming off a shocking 24-23 upset over No. 6 Wisconsin last week where they won on a last-second field goal.  It was the biggest upset of the year in college football, because Wisconsin, who was unbeaten at the time, was a 31-point favorite.

It will be interesting to see if Illinois lets up after their big win. Regardless, it's a game that Purdue should be able to win in front of their home crowd.

Purdue had no trouble beating the Illini in Champaign last year, winning 46-7 as part of their four-game winning streak when they were playing at their best. Purdue's offense went for 611 yards that day in ruing the Illini's homecoming.

Here are three things I want I see on Saturday in VIDEO FORM.
