Sky is the Limit for St. John's Basketball Following Positive Eligibility News

The St. John’s Red Storm are getting set for the start of the upcoming 2026-27 season. They will be kicking things off with an exhibition game against Drexel, and the regular season will be right around the corner. Recently, the team got some good news regarding their roster.
As expected this offseason, the Red Storm were one of the more active teams in looking to add talent. Whether that meant players from overseas or in the transfer portal, St. John’s was hungry to improve.
Last year, this was a talented roster that was able to reach the Sweet 16 and win their second straight Big East Title. Now, with head coach Rick Pitino entering his fourth year with the program, he will be looking to take the team to new heights.
Making the Elite 8 or Final Four will certainly be the goal. However, who was actually going to be able to play for St. John’s was a bit uncertain. Fortunately, the team received some really good news with a couple of players maintaining their eligibility, with their first exhibition game set to start.
Sky is the Limit for St. John’s

Just one day before their first exhibition game, St. John’s found out, for the time being, that they are going to have their full and expected roster eligible.
Of some of the key players, one of them is point guard Quinn Ellis. Coming over after some years professionally overseas, he is going to make a massive impact for the team.
Ellis is a true point guard, and he is going to allow Ian Jackson and Tounde Yessoufou to play off the ball, where they are better-suited. This trio could be a special one, and having a point guard like Ellis running the show will help make this offense run smoothly.
Furthermore, while the Ellis news is great, the temporary restraining order for Keyshawn Hall is still in effect, making him eligible to start the season as well.
Hall was a late addition by the Red Storm following the injury to Donnie Freeman, and he is one of the many players seeking a fifth year of eligibility. As of now, he is good to play, and that is a major boost.
For the Auburn Tigers last season, he was one of the best offensive players in the SEC. Hall averaged 19.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. He is going to be one of the more capable scorers for the team.
Overall, if all of these players remain eligible, the sky is going to be the limit for St. John’s.
