Official Visit Solidifies Commitment for Elijah Washington

The talented tight end recruit recaps recent trip to Syracuse.

The incoming 2024 three-star tight end from Norfolk Virginia Elijah Washington, went on his official visit this weekend after committing to Syracuse back in August. However, this was Washington’s first trip to campus since the hiring of Coach Fran Brown.

Washington recalled that it was the offensive scheme that sold him on Syracuse in the first place and, “it’s even better with Coach Brown now.”

It is safe to say Washington has no questions with staying with his school despite having a new coaching staff and if anything, the recent additions have only sparked an even bigger fire inside of him.

“Everyone who Coach Brown is bringing in is all good people who want the same things such as winning, becoming a better team, a better man and better people," Washington said.

He believes all of that is possible and more with the mix of new faces and returners in his program.

When asked what Syracuse fans should look forward to with him being in the orange jersey soon? He confidently responded they should be very excited because of the effort and energy he is going to bring in doing whatever it takes to help his team win.

The work has already begun as he continues to prepare his mind and body for the moment, he joins the team.
