2021 Impact Assessment
McDonald was originally slated to redshirt in 2020 following shoulder surgery, however, that quickly changed after he recovered faster than expected and a blanket eligibility rule was put into place by the NCAA. McDonald made serious strides over the last half of the season, and he should be expected to make a big impact in 2021. He is a rangy defensive back with desirable length that should disrupt plays on the backend of a defense that is expected to be aggressive and take risks.
