“It’s March and this time of year you have to be on your game trying to find ways to win games, it’s all about survive and advance,” Hunter said after the game. “My confidence never goes away, you can effect the game in so many ways, I felt like my assist game was great tonight and I’ve struggled this year from the line, so having a good game from there as well was huge.”

Against OU, Hunter had just eight points in the first half but exploded for 22 in the second. He hit a season-high nine field goals on 13 shots while going 3 of 4 from deep and 9 of 9 from the foul line. He also added three steals.

Seventh-seeded Texas will take on 10th-seeded Kansas State in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament on Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT in Kansas City.
