Jarren Williams was named Miami's starting quarterback on Monday, beating Tate Martell and N'Kosi Perry. The Canes kick off on Aug. 24 vs. Florida. Then, Andrew Ivins of Inside The U reported that Martell, who transferred from Ohio State, wasn't at practice on Monday.
