USC Women's Basketball: McKenzie Forbes Heads to Young, Up-in-Coming Squad in Fresh WNBA Mock Draft

The USC Trojans women's basketball team was one of the better squads this season around the country. They won the Pac-12 to earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament but fell short of their goals, losing to the UConn Huskies in the Elite Eight.

Despite the loss, the Trojans put together a very successful season. They still have a lot of talent along the roster but are losing forward McKenzie Forbes to the WNBA. In a recent mock draft from ESPN, Forbes was slected by the Indiana Fever, who are expected to be one of the more exciting teams in the WNBA next season.

The Fever also hold the first overall pick, where they are expected to select Iowa guard Caitlin Clark. While Forbes isn't on the level of Clark, she is still a very valuable piece to a team.

Last season for the Trojans, Forbes averaged 14.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. She was one of the key players for USC all season, giving them a nice scoring punch to work around. Forbes also shot 37.4% from beyond the three-point line throughout the year, showing off her range from distance.

If she can replicate her production from USC in the WNBA, it would be a steal for Indiana. The USC product has the feel of a quality role player in the league and she will be determined to help them win at all costs.
