After two daunting weeks to start the season against Florida and Baylor, Utah welcomed in-state foe Weber State to town.

The Utes were without around a dozen players, and despite all the injuries they were able to handily beat Weber. Led by backup quarterback Nate Johnson who got the start in place of the injured Cam Rising, Utah went on to win 31-7. Johnson finished the game 13-of-21 for 193 yards and a passing touchdown while also adding  71 yards and a rushing touchdown.

With Johnson starring on offense, it was Lander Barton stealing the show on defense with a pick-six.

There wasn't much to learn from this game as it appeared to be a get-through-it style of approach from Utah, but now things will really heat up for the Utes as they welcome No. 24 UCLA to town next weekend.
